Claude + NexLev = a YouTube analyst working for you

NexLev is a database of 50,000+ YouTube channels with their estimated revenue, growth, outlier scores, and format classification. The MCP is simply the bridge that lets Claude dig into it on its own — no copy-pasting, no dashboard, no extra tab open.

Once it's connected, you ask Claude a question in plain English, it queries NexLev for you, and it hands back a clean analysis.

In a single conversation, you can pull the top performers in a niche, their estimated AdSense revenue, their RPM, their upload frequency, the thumbnails that convert, the transcripts of viral videos, and even the market saturation.

The key thing to get

The free NexLev account is enough to get started. No credit card, no API key to manage. Connecting to Claude happens over OAuth, in 2 clicks.

The setup: 5 steps to connect NexLev to Claude

⚙️The steps
1
Create your free NexLev account. Head to dashboard.nexlev.io and create an account. The free plan is enough to get started (10 requests / 24h, more than enough for a study).
2
Open Claude and go to Connectors. On claude.ai, click Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. This is where you declare the MCP server to plug in.
3
Fill in the connection details. Name: NexLev — Server URL: https://prod.dashboard.nexlev.io/api/claude-mcpAuthentication: OAuth.
4
Authorize the connection. Claude redirects you to the NexLev login page. Sign in with the account you just created, then click Approve. You'll land back in Claude automatically.
5
Turn on "Always allow". Go back to Settings → Connectors, click Configure next to NexLev, and set the permissions to Always allow. Claude will be able to call the tools without asking you every single time.
Check that it works

Ask Claude: "List me 5 faceless YouTube channels in the productivity niche." If it gives you a real list with subs and revenue, you're good to go.

5 copy-paste prompts for your competitive research

1

Map the niche

🎯Find the outliers in a niche

"Give me the 10 YouTube channels with the highest outlier score in the [YOUR NICHE] niche. For each channel: subscribers, estimated monthly revenue, RPM, upload frequency, format (faceless or not)."

2

Clone a competitor

🎯Find similar channels

"Find me 10 channels similar to @[COMPETITOR] in the same format. Rank them by descending monthly revenue and flag the ones outperforming their audience size."

3

Understand what works

🎯Decode viral videos

"Pull the 5 best-performing videos from @[COMPETITOR] over the last 6 months. Grab their transcripts and thumbnails, and summarize the hook + narrative structure of each one."

4

Size up the potential

🎯Estimate a niche's revenue

"Calculate the average monthly revenue, average RPM, and average subscriber growth for the top 20 channels in the [YOUR NICHE] niche. Tell me whether the niche is saturated or growing."

5

Find the open angle

🎯Spot the openings

"Based on the 20 channels you just analyzed, list the underexploited sub-topics (few channels, high outlier score) and suggest 5 differentiated content angles I could launch."

And now, you analyze

You connect NexLev in 5 minutes, run the 5 prompts back to back, and walk out of a single Claude conversation with a competitive study that would have taken you a full day by hand.
